Gert’s piggy bank pages

Save the piggy banks, don’t smash them!

value

If you want to save money the piggy bank is an ideal object, but if you want to earn money with piggy banks you will probably be disappointed. Collecting piggy banks is for fun. Collections have more value than just money! Gert’s collection contains piggy banks he bought from 5 (± £ 4,80 or $ 7,00) for old ones and antique piggy banks for which he paid more than 100,-.(± £ 96,- or $ 141,-).

A piggy bank from the world-famous Dutch Royal Tichelaar, known from the Makkum earthen-ware, is priced ± 350,-. ‘Faience de Quimper’ (France) is also world-famous. They sell traditional piggy banks from 55,-.

Buying antique piggy banks is tricky if you are not an expert. Much antique earthenware can be identified by a factory hallmark, piggy banks also! If you want a particular antique piggy buy it for the price you have in mind and don’t forget to negotiate with the seller. Don’t expect that the antique piggy bank becomes more valuable getting older, like old paintings. Concerning piggy banks that’s utter nonsense.
