MEXICO
The distinctive mark of 95% of Mexican piggy banks is the grip on the back. Originally it was, as far as I know and have seen in Portugal, a piece of rope. Possibly it was used to bind the piggy banks on the ceiling or wall to ensure that it was at least difficult to rob the piggy bank. A second distinctive mark is the light weight of most of the Mexican piggy banks. |
